DIY Fashion

September 21, 2011 2:36pm

I really wish I could just create my own clothes. So often I have an idea in my head of a style of dress, or a print or a colour that I'd love to have in my wardrobe but, of course, I can never find what I want in the shops.

I genuinely wish I could design my own clothes, and not in a naff R4i fashion design game way. I know other people would buy the kind of clothes I have in mind. It's a shame I don't know any real fashion designers, I'd happily give them my ideas if they could give me the clothes!

Maybe I should take a sewing or seamstress class, then I could maybe create some things, or alter things I get in the shops to look the way I want them to look at least!

Well, it's something else on the list of 'must-do's!

Winter Wardrobe Time

September 20, 2011 11:24am

I know it's only September still, but it's almost the end of September, and summer seems to be well and truly dead. So on that rather sour and miserable note, I am redoing my whole entire wardrobe.

Out has come the suitcase full of jumpers, hoodies, long-sleeved shirts, thermal tights, leggings and tank tops, and my lovely quilted jackets and coats. Layers layers layers!

I have some coats and jackets that were absolutely great buys in the sale earlier this year but it was spring/summer then, so I haven't worn any of them yet!

And away I am packing all my bikinis, spaghetti strap tops, shorts, pale jeans, summer dresses and skirts. I'm keeping out some dresses and skirts that aren't too summer, because I love the skirts and dresses with woolly tights and boots look in winter. Especially with one of my beautiful new coats!

Online Tutorials

June 7, 2011 11:47am

I've been looking online for some extra training in animation, particularly with 3D animation as it seems to be the biggest thing in film and digital animation right now.

I didn't really want to go back to college or anything as I work pretty much full time and don't need the hassle, and as it's all digital I might as well do it online and with digital resources. I found a great visualisation tutorial 3d max online that you can sign up for at any time and have a real-life tutor to help you along with the digital courses.

I was 'mmm'ing and 'ahhh'ing about them for a while as it's a bit of a cost, but then my mum just paid for me to do the whole course! "Investing in my future" she called it. I'm so unbelievably grateful to her, the cost would've been a bit hefty for me at the moment, and hopefully I can pay her back when I'm animating blockbuster movies!

Handy Online Lottery Tickets

May 23, 2011 8:09pm

Playing my lottery online is such a handy thing! I am always so worried that I will forget to buy my tickets and knowing my luck that will be the time that the numbers come up!

All you need to do is say how many weeks you want to play for and pick your numbers and off you go!

Lotto online also offers another game called Plus 5 which has 5 draws throughout the week and if you just pay an extra £1 when you buy your tickets you can enter the draw. The jackpot prize in these draws is £250,000! Not bad!

One day I am hoping I am at work and I get an email saying I have won the lottery! Then I will be off with champagne!

Matalan: A Surprising Shop

May 14, 2011 3:13pm

A stroll around Matalan last week surprised me. I remember when I was a kid and my mum would take me to Matalan to get me a cheap pair of trousers or a new shirt for school. It was the days before Primark!

So since then I have never really been able to look at Matalan in the same way. Anyway, I was dragged in there last week by a friend and I started my strolling around very dubiously.

However, within about five minutes I found three Womens Tops that I loved. Within ten minutes I had added a handbag and within fifteen minutes I had added two bikinis.

Still rather cautious about my items I visited the changing room. Another twenty minutes later I left the changing rooms, feeling slightly chuffed with all of my items I had tried on!

The last part was the till. Now I had already briefly added up my purchases before I got there, but when I was paying I really realised what a good deal I had. £70 for all that! Bargain!

I left feeling very happy with myself and my buys and will be visiting there next weekend too! Matalan is my new love!
